| The Clinic and Ski Patrol
staff work very closely together to coordinate all aspects of patient care,
from initial injury on the mountain, through discharge from the Clinic (or
transport to the hospital). All injuries are
given a priority which is transmitted over the radio. At any given moment,
we all know what is going on. All Ski Patrollers are encouraged to participate
in the care given at the Clinic. The outcome of this close relationship
shows up best during the stressful moments of a Priority 1 trauma case,
where we work together so well....or during the reduction of a dislocated
hip, when the Patroller's strength is needed for counter-traction. |
