Dr. Carter is the Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director for Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Southern Ohio Medical Center.  He is a counselor for the Ohio Chapter of the American College Emergency Physicians to the national council where he has served on reference committees and has been Tellers and Credentials Committee.  Thomas is actively engaged with outside speaking for  Michigan College Emergency Physicians, the Ohio Chapter of the American College Emergency Physicians and the Scioto County Medical Society.  He is Associate Clinical Professor at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Adjunct Faculty at Shawnee State University where he teaches undergraduate research focused on emergency medicine. He trained at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo, Ohio and served as a crew member of the Life Flight Critical Care Transport as a flight Physician.  He received his medical degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in biology degree from Bowling Green State University. Dr. Carter is a dutiful husband, proud father of three girls under 6, and is an active triathlete and swim coach.
